midi nes

i want to buy one or two of these, but i'm kind of worried since it appears the site hasn't been touched for 2 years?

i've seen it linked here in EKT a lot, has anyone ordered from this dude recently?

reason for this thread is I can't find any contact information anywhere on the website.

of course I found an email address on there right after making this thread, even though i looked for like 20 minutes first.

anyway I guess i'll post the result just in case anyone is interested.

i don't have one, nor have i used one myself, but... fwiw, a friend of a friend has one, and both him and my friend were raving about it.

i recall there being some minor gripes, but nothing too terrible. mostly stuff like "i wish it had a CC for ___"

A friend of mine has one, and it's pretty cool. We've done a few songs with it.

What I really want to get [once I have the cash] is a nanoloop for the Gameboy Advance. You could compose music anywhere and with pretty much anyone.

that is the only gripe i have, and its a fucking big one. The ability to not be able to modify the basic 2 square,triangle, and noise channel paramters is very frustrating. I think there are 2 ccs that modify the basic sound of each lead instrument, but even those do not offer the variety in timbre found in 90% of nes game lead instrument sounds. I may be using it incorrectly, but after reading your post this is the 2nd time ive heard another person complain about this (besides myself)

to answer the original poster's fears, i too was afraid to order it off the outdated webpage so i bought mine on ebay instead.

Well, honestly, we don't really use CC's, we have a bunch of fx boxes. So we hadn't come across any problems with that. The only problem we had was the NES overheating, or being dirty so the cartridge would just stop working mid-song, or would take a while to get to work initially. But that's a hardware problem with the NES, so if you get one of the newer models, there probably won't be an issue.
