Where Dreams Go To Die

I'm working on a new album with my guitarist friend. I'm also gonna get it professionally mastered by the sound engineer at work. My pops even offered to sponsor getting the album pressed if I wanna do a run of 500 so this may turn into something great.

Excellent track. I truly dig that build up to the break beat that i was anticipating ohh so much but i think the break could be a little more powerful; i wasnt moved as much as i hoped. i like the transition on the second half where the guitars stop with the lead and your style comes in. i love your work with the piano and delay (as usual). Nice i like that break beat on the last third with that raspy kick. excellent where the two styles conjoin. epic track man, epic.

i'd buy the hell out of this.

the break lacked a build IMO. you could add a few more rolls or something to create a "explosion-of-sound" (squarepusher - the exploding psychology [02:10 - 02-40] on the "live in japan" cd is an good example) sort of thing. just my 20-cents.

i think most people on this board are really nitpicking (for a lack of other words) which is not really a bad thing, on the other hand it's extremely helpful when one wants perfection, but this track stands well enough as it is. it's a great track, man! keep up the good work! good luck with the album!

I really love the starting, so emotional, the middle is good but could be built a little better.

I think it's an excellent overall track, but definitely the *only* thing it is lacking is the quality of the breaks and their variation.

I think the track would work just so much better if you used some good quality samples as the drums, every other instrument apart from drums is perfect.

Thanks for listening & commenting, guys! I have been revising it all day and now version 2.0 has been uploaded (it replaced the old version so the URL is still the same).

I refined the beats so they sound better. I found that throwing in some subtle hihat action actually makes a world of difference. Also, I completely reworked the second half, I felt it was a bit muddy in the old version, so I made some new elements and kept the one killer guitar riff.

diggin it so far again. when the break finally busts through it still doesnt deliver the punch i think it should. the second half delivers baby :) the final third is fuckin rockin.... best part of the track me thinks. ohhh shit, i love that build... good gawd. now that's an explosion! damn this is nice...

i'd say it's about 5x better. good work.
