The first version of this track(I did it over 2 years ago) had soundbites from a documentary on famine in Ethiopia. The first version of this track(I did it over 2 years ago) had soundbites from a documentary on famine in Ethiopia. i think it's fascinating how different your intentions as a musician can be from how it's interpretted by the listener. i got the sad angle, but i thought was more a satirical comment on that track, and the slow, heavy march of corporate christmas. the fact it originally featured clips from starving people re-presents it in an entirely different angel, and the dreary, wonky vibe, becomes more foreboding, even sinister. the smiley face, in view of that, becomes completely inappropriate, so i can see why you wanted further explanation. (not to come across as the self-absorbed 'victim', but i thought it was just my uncanny nack of irritating people without intending too...)
