Success: the woman likes AE....

Listening to Sparkle Motion's 2001 mix the other day which contains the lovely track VI Scose Poise.

I framed the question negatively: "You don't like this kind of music very much do you?" She replied that it was ok, and that I can crank that style of music whenever i want to without having to worry about giving her a headache (I've played it before when she's around, just not at the levels that AE needs to be appreciated.)

hm.. i haven't tried ae on her yet... mission accomplished with squarepusher, afx, mouse on mars, ziq, and vibert though

it was the other way around for me. I was kind of an off and on autechre fan since the days of Lp5. I had a copy of confield but didnt really love it. She professed t was the best autechre album and i needed to give it another chance. She was right and i now hold autechre in very high regard

mine really likes egg or whatever it is from incunabula

my girlfriend has came to an ae gig, and she thought they were actually the best act on that evening. she was appalled by fennesz though and thought the guitar was just a prop to look cool. but the worst reaction to any music she has had was the black dice gig I took her and her bro to. to this day i still get the piss ripped out of me for paying to see that 'noise' as they call it.

flipped through my girlfriend's CDs about the first month after we got together...found FSOL, 'pusher, tortoise, amon tobin, and others...no boc, but after hearing me rant about 'em, she got geogaddi on her own.

haven't played her any autechre yet, but she has an affinity for 'odd sounds' and would probably be into it. i'll work my way up to them soon.

just beware the woman who owns more than one Throbbing Gristle cd.

Initiating any friend to Autechre's music is impossible task for me.

the same... we saw them live a few years ago... she was into it... but at home she's like... please! my son liam seems to enjoy it! btw... where is this sparkle motion mix? i have a few others of his.

I'm the one who prefers ae in our house... my other half listens occasionally (usually when I force him to) but he's not as keen on them as I once thought he was.

I think he just lied about liking the stuff I like when we first met and now, while he still likes some stuff, almost four years on he tells me the music I listen to "sounds like squiggles".

where do you guys find girls like that. I mean it's odd to judge someone by their tendency to listen to odd music, but I think its still grounds for marriage

well.my miss does like AE,envane especially-just like i do,and chiastic,but that's it.She generally goes for pan sonic,casino vs japan,...amon tobin..but mostly multiplex,landau,..but i will have a really bad evening if i go for Rammeau,Scarlatti,Lulli,Dowland,wich i DO like a lot

In Belgium for example. My girlfriend has got a great taste in music. Currently she loves 'lcc' by Autechre. And according to last.fm's tast-o-meter our musical compatibility is rated super and that's as true as can be!
