Computer Music

Recommended Posts

i can't wait till there are quadruple processor computers and i can run like dozens of instances of moog type analogue modelling vsti's

that would be quite nice

one of these days we'll be able to run whatever the fuck instruments and effects on our computers with no hicups at all

that would be quite nice

not like it would make me a better musician, but whatever, by that time i might be :stuart:

how much do those cost? do they run vst's or their own proprietary software?

of course instruments will become more and more advanced and high quality to the point where we have 4000bit reverbs (ok this is probably exaggerated) that still don't have "analogue warmth"

i'm happy with my 2ghz cpu to be honest

Of course there's the ridiculous thing of people moving more and more into stupid territory.

eg: If people go into 64 bit wav files then they're daft. The human ear cannot detect the difference in 32 bit over 24, never mind the ridiculous detail of 64.

There's just no need for that amount of dynamics.

yes but the aliens like the music too, you can't forget about their super-sensitive ears, we must not neglect them

sorry.
