modey
Here are some snippits from the full band jam last Tuesday. We tried something with perhaps a bit of a reggae sound or something, mixed with our usual post rockish sound - post reggae? I think it worked really well. In this recording: Luke - guitar Ash - bass Dirado - organ/piano Sam - portasound Me - drums Your browser does not support the HTML5 audio tag http://proj.experimedia.net/modex/mp3/001.mp3 (1:40, 1615872 bytes) Near the beginning. Note the awesome synchronisation between me and Ash, yeah! I didn't notice at the time, but Dirado and Luke were having a bit of a 'back and forth' style jam in places. As for the previous track posted, these are really rough (especially my drumming, hehe), and there is a lot of clipping in places. But they turned out well enough for me to seriously consider incorporating reggae elements into our songs. Squee
Love it. Reminds me of a darker version of the Monkey Island tunes Thanks Haha Confused Sad Facepalm Burger Farnsworth Big Brain Like × Quote Hide all signatures Link to comment https://forum.watmm.com/topic/18597-reggaepost-rock-hehe/#findComment-379921 Share on other sites

Guest yan_g
too little to call it post-reggae or reggae/anything, really. no reggae drums, no reggae guitar, which are the 2 most important things in reggae imo. the bass at times sounds a bit like reggae. that's about it. modey
thanks for listening everyone! i dunno what to call it really, perhaps i should've got the keyboard player to do some offbeat stuff but we all thought it sounded kinda reggae/dubby or something? i think in the final version i'll put a bit of dub delay on the snare every now and then, hehe. springymajig
I'm not really a fan of anything reggae-ish... but I was curous and gave it a listen anyway. So It's not really my thing, but I can say that you guys play VERY well together... you're pretty tight... good work! Guest tht! tne
pretty good for being all improvised. i definitely see the connection between reggae and post-rock, the post-reggae.
