Reggae/post-rock, hehe.

Here are some snippits from the full band jam last Tuesday. We tried something with perhaps a bit of a reggae sound or something, mixed with our usual post rockish sound - post reggae? I think it worked really well.

In this recording:

Luke - guitar

Ash - bass

Dirado - organ/piano

Sam - portasound

Me - drums

Near the beginning. Note the awesome synchronisation between me and Ash, yeah!

Middle section, nice little breakdown and some great solos from Luke and Dirado.

End section. I didn't notice at the time, but Dirado and Luke were having a bit of a 'back and forth' style jam in places.

As for the previous track posted, these are really rough (especially my drumming, hehe), and there is a lot of clipping in places. But they turned out well enough for me to seriously consider incorporating reggae elements into our songs.

thanks for listening everyone!

i dunno what to call it really, perhaps i should've got the keyboard player to do some offbeat stuff but we all thought it sounded kinda reggae/dubby or something? i think in the final version i'll put a bit of dub delay on the snare every now and then, hehe.

I'm not really a fan of anything reggae-ish... but I was curous and gave it a listen anyway. So It's not really my thing, but I can say that you guys play VERY well together... you're pretty tight... good work!
