Well you can buy it here anyway:

Smallfish Ghostbox shop

Even though its not meant to be out for a few days. sounds like their usually unexciting sound collage mess and I cant quite get myself excited about it. I enjoy Belbury Poly much more, just as well since Iv ordered that new tshirt, looks nice enough.

ghostbox products seem to be one of those things that look good on the shelf and sounds good in the wire articles

but is actually very unremarkable when you hear it

its like the new boc or something

if i was cayce pollard id probably be sick on a ghostbox rercord sleeve

such is the nonpower of its painfully fashionable post electronic music design

Yeah I kinda agree, the Belbury Poly stuff is good though- nice melodies and doesn't seem to take itself too seriously...

agreed, my favourite ghost box artist. similar melodic ideas to the focus group, but longer, more developed tracks. the sorta psychrock track near the end of the owl's map is one of my favourite tracks at the moment, it sorta reminds me of the two droney psychey guitar tracks on boc's old tunes.

edit: plus those belbury poly tshirts are well nice, i'm 'avin one.

well, i've been listening to WAAPP a lot, and i think it really does grow on you. the psychrock stuff and ummagummaish (almost) stuff punctuate the album nicely. it's actually really cohesive and if stoned enough i daresay narrativesque

still prefer belbury poly, and i'm listening to eric zann (also jim jupp) for the first time right now, and i might like it even more.

i can't deny the visual/design loveliness isn't a bit of the appeal but what's the harm in that? the same is true for rdj or boc, in fairness.

good one

was a bit too hard to get into it at the first but after a while it really grabs you, very confusing and psychedelic

i am 99.5% certain that eric zann's track "the obsidian pyramid" samples t'fuck out of a squarepusher electroacoustic joint

i'm not sure if it's vacuum garden (which would be pretty mindblowing, the zann cd is quite a bit older than HE) or [[i wish you/hardcore]] obelisk.

or i might just be losing my mind.

i shall report back.
