They haven't announced the exact release date, but they are now taking pre-orders and according to Phil Westerns myspace blog on February 28th,

"Download is on its way to mastering in a week. I have a few more days to editorialize, so I am listening to it constantly to figure out where it needs any touches. I am almost ready to let it go."

I just ordered my copy a few days ago as I have loved cEvin Keys work since he and Dwayne started Download (im really not a huge Skinny Puppy fan)

They also have several other new albums coming out from subconscious studios in the coming months. Another release to look forward to is the new platEAU. Both these albums are also part of the new vault series being put out which contains 6 or 7 albums.

*Note these releases will be fairly limited. From Phil westerns blog again...

"Download - Fixer

It has been a lot of chopping, moving, copying, editing, mixing, remixing, listening, second guessing, reworking blah blah blah blah blah.....but it sounds like a record. The best Download record so far, in my opinion....i think Kevin thinks so too. People have been ordering them up and it looks like we will sell out of it, and that is good news too. People who are sitting on it and contemplating probably wont get one...1000 copies goes fast."

Support good music, buy from independent labels.

I'm ordering this very soon. Monday probably, along with the new TG. I fucking love Download. Plateau too. I've been waiting for a Music For Grassbars reissue for ages.

People if you haven't heard Plateau or Download you're missing out, PM me and I'll hit you up. These people need more respect.

I must have listened to that album every day for a few years. In-fact, The Eyes Of Stanley Pain was the album that really introduced me to a different structural format for music. before that album i was listening to nirvana and the nirvana clones pretty much exclusively. It opened my eyes, definitely a classic!

yeah it had a similar effect on me, i remember i was only exposed to industrial music and Skinny Puppy was probably the craziest thing i'd heard at the time. I already had Furnace, but this album was a complete shock to my system. From there i ended up checking out Coil, aphex twin, throbbing gristle, and zoviet france . When listening to it now i can hear a lot of embryonic ideas that eventually influenced electronic music music.

So has anyone here heard this yet? I bought the subscription, but my copy of Fixer was cracked (a problem at the manufacturing plant apparently, to be replaces free of charge). Of course, it's available on internets now.

I'm liking it so far, but there's not a whole lot that grabs me initially. I think this will be a grower.

Also, for what they are the Doubting Thomas and Download - Furnace reissues are pretty good. The Infidel definately sounds cleaner. The second disc of Furnace is full of some nice stuff.

Ordering this later on. The entire Vault 1 and 2 subscription package actually as there's a few discs I don't have. Ahhh, money.

yea, I got it yesterday and I have listened to it twice so far. Several tracks are starting to grow on me. I definitely think this will take a number of listens.

I just ordered that furnace reissue also.
