Field recorders

have any of you had any experience with field recorders?

ok nm, i can vouch for the microtrack field recorder, it is a very good piece of kit, the r09 on the other hand, there are a couple of watmmers who have one i think, they can tell ya.

i like my r-09

no windscreen option at the moment unless you make one, not too difficult.

if you are using and external mic then that's not a problem.

you probably can't go wrong with microtrack, r-09 or the h4

I heard good things about the H4. I'm planning on picking one up soon.

i just use my laptop's built-in mic

I been using a mini disc + AT822 for a while now with much success. Very NICE!

If I were to upgrade I'd go R09 + AT822 I think...

I'm not planning on using a mic much.. it's 'stealth' recording I'm after mainly

that's the exact minidisc model i used for years, even the same ugly color as my first one, and i did headphone mics too. i used big over the ear ones though, so i would look as ridiculous as possible

i finally picked up a EDIROL R09 today, well my mom did for she wants to make hypnosis CDs with a bit of my help. She writes scripts and I do background sound. She wanted to just take into her crappy mic and record it into the computer, but i convinced her to get this so I can play with it too. I finally understand your avy now Adjective :)

i played with it around the house, the street, and the woods for about an hour. I really dig it. The internal mic is pretty good too, i was surprised at the clarity.
