searching for synth or midi controller

I need something to play with at least 5 octaves(preferrably fully wieghted)

I was going to get CME uf8 but im thinking maybe for a few hundread more I could get a decent synth.

I would prefer it like this now actually because I now am running vista and want to stay away from windows as much as i possibly can.

Anyone have any recommendations or anything for sale(NYC Area Preferred)?

I don't really know a lot about what synths are good for cheap, i only know all the really expensive ones I want

my other option is to buy something like an organ from a pawn shop or ebay
