abelton live arrangement window sucks

i dunno why but as soon as i start trying to start getting a track from the session window loops into the arrangement window i just lose interest. i start building it out and fading in certain tracks and the inspiration is just gone. i'm considering recording each part out and building it in another app. but what? adobe audition is all i can think of but thats not gonna work. cubase i recall is arrangement based if i remember rightly...so could i rewire abelton through that and arrange in cubase? i don't really understand rewiring tbh.

how does everyone else work with abelton? do you just record yourself playing "live" in the session window?

i don't even know what's wrong with the arrangment window...

I spend some time in the clip view window, making a couple or 3 sections with various audio tracks, then record to arrange view roughly, using track mutes to bring out/drop out various part. I record about 5 or six minutes worth. Then I listen to the arrangement away from the computer; making notes on a notepad. Then I return to the computer and change according to my notes, with listening. I have a break, maybe playing iSketch or something. I then listen again with notepad in hand. Repeat 3 or 4 times. Render. Listen in the context of other tracks (in iTunes) over a the next couple of days. In that time, I decide whether or not I should continue, or scrap and strt something new. If I think there is the germ of something good, I will get to work micro editing. Then I put marker points at the beginning of the sections. Then I flip between the sections, seeing which work together, noting in my notepad. The I save as {filename00n}+1. I'll reorder the track brutally. Then i'll microedit to try make the sections flow. Render, repeat , etc.
