I haven't posted anything here in a while... wasn't really making much in the way of electronic music for a while. But I'm back in the habit of it. Here's one track I just finished up:

Back in December I recorded my girlfriend stomping around in the snow, cracking ice, that sort of thing. I finally made use of the samples for most of the percussion in this song. Yep.

Enjoy. :santa:

Quite nice and chilled and good production. I dig the vocal snippet bits. Lots of different variations and stuff keeps it smart.

You're welcome! And thank you.

I think I revised the mixes of a couple of those tracks you mentioned since I got back to my studio (they were made while I was visiting my parents in Ireland, and I didn't have the greatest monitors at my disposal).

Jubal: I will take that as a compliment... except for the giant D which looks like a criticism to me. The rainbow coloured iris was exactly what I was going for with this track!

Cheers

i don't check this board very often any more, but did the other day and i must say this track is superb! leaves you wanting more, which is an annoying feature of a lot of good things.

nice one. two thumbs fresh.

where was that release you did gone done album what? i don't know how to phrase the question but it involves a release you mentioned and where i can get it. not that i will though, at least not now, cos i'm absolutely skint and unemployed to boot!

Awesome, I love fresh thumbs! Thanks for those.

That album release is long overdue. It's still coming out this year, I promise, and it will be available through Metric Style Records along with various internet-CD-purchasing-places, CD baby and the like. I'll post about it in the New Releases section as well as in here, and if I'm feeling really bold, in General Banter as well... but I will mask it cleverly as though I'm bantering in a general fashion.

I'll also of course post relevant details at my myspace page: http://www.myspace.com/zephyrnova

IRAIL: love how it starts :) there not enough melodic electronica for my taste, and i like yours. nice chord progression, with surprises, love that. production is quality. love that noisey percussion sounds, dunno what they are. just been reading the topic just in case. snow sprang to mind, i'm glad i spotted right :) it's even better when you know what the original sounds are :)

lovely track, thx for sharing

PS: the "your feedback has empowered me" was in reference to your signature at the time, which read "yan_g empowers you".

This reminds me a LOT of Opiate's first release "Objects for an Ideal Home". Have you ever heard it? Class A stuff - and the same goes for your track. As a matter of fact, I think I'll listen to it again...

I haven't heard it. Just did a search on myspace for them/him and was met with a series of Tool fan pages, hehe. Hmmm, tough to find mp3s by an artist with a name like that.

And thanks!

I really like this one. Thanks for making it - the melodies are fantastic.

You're very welcome --'twas a pleasure. I think that's the first time I've used "'twas" on the internets. Lately I've been embracing melodies more in my electronic music. Glad you're enjoying them!

Very very well done. This is as well composed as it is technicly very good. I like the way you didn´t over abused the beats onto too experimental areas and keeping it´s soul (the main synth) alive during the whole set. Hope you keep delivering this great music, from time to time

I shall! Thanks for the kind words. I look forward to the remixing.
