Yeah definitely has that Ghettotech vibe to it. Ha those synths 2nd layer synths are very electroey. I see you got the Arpegiattor running on the 2nd layer. I think the most unique part are those funny sounding synths. Mmm I think at this stage its too early to really say if this is a dope track or will become one yet. I can hear the potential though. Still I think the key for you would be to put your own stamp on the electro vibe.

I'm diggin this, although it sounds a bit dub/jungley to me instead of electro. The gated lead line is a bit cheese, but then electro is a bit cheese isn't it? Needs more of something.. I think you may have killed the bass on the kik drums a bit much, they seem a bit "clicky" here and I have if anything, too much bass from this system. It seemed a bit sparse on melody to me still but, production is top notch.

I just don't understand boundaries! :O)

cheers though!

I tend to undercook tracks a bit - partly because i like a bit of sparseness, but yeah, it needs some more oomph or oompa oompa innit?

i judged the bass by the fft whatchamcallit graph - not a great idea :O) LOL

Oh well yah it all comes down to whatever you want to do as an artist anyhow. I've just been excited about these recent tracks because your production is top quality and I love electro so much, but see so little of it from EKT.

I would go for more oomph for sure. Do you have a vocoder? All of the best electro vocoder lines are cheesey/hillarious and not terriblyu hard to come up with on the fly, and I feel like they really help "glue" a sparse electro groove together.

From DMX Krew's "Breakin' Anthem Part 1":

"...the funky breakin' beats roll along just like a motor; DMX is in the place, with the EMS Vocoder..."

and

"...we rock the crowd an we're rockin' the planet; In a party situation you just know we're gonna jam it..."

or basically the entirety of Freestyle's "Don't Stop the Rock", for instance

I don't have access to a hardware vocoder. I tried a vst one called "orange" or "orangator" or something a while back. I'll try that tomorrow - see what i can come up with, thanks!

:O)

NEW VERSION LINK:

CLICK TO LISTEN

i've been working on the subbass, here is new version. I used a gate on the subbass in a few sections to get a dubby effect.

i'd also left an audio channel open that was introducing a shed load of noise, closed that so it's less noisy now !

Yo yo I have a analogue vocoder AND a talkbox. Anybody want to get their electro on HOLLA AT YO BOY

vocode me something for this track then... or SHUDDUP :O)

weren't vocoders originally used on phone lines to save bandwidth? phone conversations back then (30s i think) would have been totally electro!
