xfxf
most people look at this problem at the wrong angle. the cpu you use isn't anywhere near as important as the supporting chipset. get a shitty chipset, and you'll have a hell of an experience trying to do anything audio related. (i'm talking the motherboard chipset, rather than just the audio chipset). which chipsets are you looking at for the laptops you're considering? Guest mutchy
the chipset is Mobile Intel 915GM Express if that means anything to you Quote Link to comment https://forum.watmm.com/topic/2165-centrinoturion/#findComment-197845 Share on other sites
BCM
I'd vote Turion! That's what I've got in my laptop and it kicks ass.....my mate's got an expensive Vaio with a Centrino and it can't handle half as many VSTs as my cheaper, no-make (well, it's an Advent) laptop. Guest cosmonaut
yep, i've never had a problem with my turion - and it's only got 512MB of ram (been meaning to up to a gig but just haven't gotten round to it).
