Nice start here. I like the feel of the track, but that high pitched beat that sounds like a duck quaking didn't work for me.

i really liked this. wow that transition was amazing. this evolved into some thing quite beautiful. so far this is my favorite of yours. my only gripe is that dying bassdrum, maybe less fart and more crunch.

ok, i chose "marmalade garden" because it was the best "dlamerde anagram" anagram i could find, can farts and ducks fit in a marmalade garden... i guess so. i'll give that kick another listen with that new lighting. keeping the ducks anyway :)

anyone else?

edit: replaying the track. thanks for pointing out that "dying" aspect of the kick, it'll take the track to some other directions i guess :)

Very delicate, restrained production. Not much I can really crit about, truth be told, as I'm not listening much to electronica these days. I will say the sounds you used are fairly generic though. There is definitely a sense of waiting for some more dynamic to evolve here, I guess that's where you're heading though. I would defo say the inclusion of something with more presence would be very welcome.

As horrendous as the word is, it's a very 'nice' tune as it stands. :)

Cheers for the crit on my track, I think the comment on the guitars is well founded and I'l defo be following that advice.

came back to this one and listened to it over and over again. really nice stuff here. the timing is perfect when the beat comes in and you keep the percussion really tight. i found the clicking sound in the right stereo to be kind of annoying at first, but after a few listens, i now concede - it works nicely with the rest of the instruments (kind of tickles my brain, actually). i absolutely love how the pitch manipulation is used as a segue into the next part, but without losing the cohesiveness of the whole. the underlying mood of the piece remains immutable while the manipulation of effects on instruments are characterized by very subtle changes. you don't overdo anything, so there's not too much repetition - keeps me interested. i love the melody in the first part - you integrate the synth nicely with a sweet melody; then the breakdown is initiated by the pitch fall and the louder, distorted synth. but what makes it so wonderful is that you bring the first synth back after the breakdown. same synth, but higher pitch and a lighter tone. bringing back that tight beat is a good move too. the synthesis of the higher pitched melody with the distorted pitch manipulated synth is nice for the ending - makes it more cohesive while bringing closure at the same time. but i'll shut up now, i am just blabbering. in summation : i love it.

ok, you guys and especially you dactyl made me want to post some more. the tune has quite evolved, the beginning is almost the same, i wonder what you'll think of the directions i've taken. i've put cheese seeds in the marmalade garden (near the 3:50-4 minutes marks) and they've grown into something colourful and a little weird, but enjoyable nonetheless. the track is about 75% finished, still have to work a few things including the transitions, + the kalimba doesn't sound pretty good, so there's definitely some work on that, and the levels in general are not satisfying, and some other things :) i haven't listened to it on a proper system so i have no precise idea how the basses sound like atm. they're ok on my speakers.

crits encouraged :) and thanx to all who've already listened and commented :)

oh, and there is no proper ending, too!

Alright, I confess - this is great. The bluesy riff works somehow. I don't know why I couldn't hear it fit in at first, but now I admit it is a nice addition. I like how the second part almost sounds sort of post-rocky - kinda reminded me of Mogwai for some reason. My only criticism is that random chord fill in with the cheesy sounding moog synth (?). Just didn't work for me. I just couldn't hear it fit in with the other instruments, but that's just me. I like how the bass and the kick carries the melody along, then it quiets down a bit before you bring that tight beat back. Even though you split it up into a two part structure, it still remains cohesive. By bringing back the beat with the synth melody from the beginning, I think it gives it somewhat of a proper ending (even though you think it doesn't); but if you don't think it's a proper ending, then by all means, add more! I would really be interested in hearing how this track will progress if you decide to add more, even though it already sounds great as it is. All in all, I thought it was awesome.

This is very good, very melodic and well produced. Everything is in it´s right place, the little details have an atmosphere of it´s own. The only thing I didn´t enjoyed much was the organic bass in that sort of chorus. But that is a minimal flaw, overhall it´s amazing. Not sounding like Plaid, more like Metamatics.

do you mean the sound of the synth i guess? i think that synth is badly introduced and i'm working on that. glad you dig that track :)
