modey
Your browser does not support the HTML5 audio tag retrofit (9:22, 13504512 bytes) this is the new version of round for luck, if anyone remembers it. it's almost done, i'm pretty happy with all of the sounds - but i think it might need some more swirly sounds in the last section, hehe. or maybe i'll just leave it like it is. everything on this was played live, dirado played the piano but i played everything else. the drums were a bitch to record! this is possibly the best piece i've ever recorded, and definitely the most dynamic. so everyone please download, listen with headphones and tell me what you think! Some lovely moments in there, good changes. It's a little slow moving for my taste, but that's not a fault, more an indication of my overwhelming impatience. :) I think the drums are much more successful when they come in the 2nd time, they lose that 'played in a room' sound (which I'm finding impossible to get rid of too... ah well...). Wasn't so into the rock solo in the heavier section towards the end for me it jarred against the rest of the tune. It reminded me a little of 80s metal ballads... I would have used another instrument instead. Good sturf, cap'n. modey
thanks for listening! the drum sound was actually partly intentional (well except for the downright shitty cymbals) - i only used one microphone, two metres away from the kit. as for the solo, well that's my bendy prog-rock solo taste coming through ahah, i've got no excuse for that! springymajig
yah it's very very good... amazing production considering you didn't have a big shmancy studio (at least I'm assuming so). The middle section is incredibly pretty... and my favourite part of the song.
