beNito
I bought their new ep (prelude to war stories) and yeah.... It's rubbish... James lavelle should stop being so into toyz and bape and limited unkle clothes, get back with dj shadow (who really needs to be pu back on tracks, his last album was like one of the worst of 2006) to make history again.... I like the cover though... Guest Fran
I also adored Psyence Fiction. One album that´s as experimental as it listenable with good genre swifting. Never Never Land was a letdown on every aspect: popish songs, monophonic songs, senseless sample... And this one doesn´t sound any better. Sounds even worse, from what I´ve heard on myspace. And DJ Shadow should definently return, but after that crappy Outsider, I´m not sure what he´s about to do next. zero
haven't heard it yet, but am pretty weary after lavelle's last take on the UNKLE name. I mean, UNKLE in the mid-late '90s was badass. really awesome remixes and singles, then psyence fiction, then nothing. shadow left the project, apparently tim goldsworthy had left prior, and it was just lavelle, who really proved how shit of a producer he was with never never land. if UNKLE returned to more breakbeat oriented material, instead of 4/4 euro techno crap, then I hope for the best. otherwise, lavelle has run his course and is left relegated as some '90s euro cheesedick ibiza DJ with a residence in a crap london club with no talent as a producer.
