MEAT Records

Hey guys - I've been tossing the idea in my head around for a while and have decided to take the plunge. I always hear it's the worst time to start a label from everyone I know who runs a label, but I honestly think that can be more of an excuse than a real complaint.

MEAT Records is kicking off with an EP of my own, and we're going to be selling it digitally through iTunes, Napster, Rhapsody and a handful of other commercial music services, and we're currently working out the business w/ Bleep, and several other more indie focused digital distributers.

I feel like this day in age, people want to get things onto their computers/mp3 players as easily as possible, and i think selling mp3s through digital services is probably the easiest way for you guys to get music you want as easily as possible (barring soulseek of course, which is often inevitable).

If this EP goes over well, and the next follows suit, we will certainly consider kick-starting some record pressing if there's a calling for it. Right now I don't have enough money to gamble on a CD or vinyl release coming out of the starting gate.

I've got a few artists lined up for you guys after my own EP, some you haven't heard of, and some who's feet are wet with your kisses. All we ask is that you buy the music if you genuinely enjoy it.

My EP, Be Always Righteous Forever will be released worldwide on August 31st. Its 6 tracks deep and will cost about $6 US on iTunes. I put samples from the release on my myspace, and will on my website (when it comes back up). I hate one-sheets so I'll just let the music speak for itself.
