8 Bit Army

This is a fun little ditty I made this week using a few softsynths based on Nintendo sounds. It's mostly in 9/8, with a few other odd meters thrown in where it made sense... and no it doesn't sound like vsnares. The music's a bit on the jazzy side. Jazzy prog Nintendo music with mega-beats:

It's not a joke track, but it's got a sense of humor.

As always the melody is absolutely top notch and the same goes for the production, beat etc. How come you haven't released 122 albums by now and won tons of prizes? Well, I guess the world is just an awful place for musicians who actually know how to create something original, huh? ;)

Thanks! I did win one prize for composition at acidplanet.com for the track The ice People are Melting (posted over there, www.acidplanet.com/zephyr_nova). As for the 122 albums... I'm working on it. Expect the first in the next couple months.

zephyr nova is epic.

not my fave of yours (been downloading many tracks off acidplanet and playing those on yourmyspace page) but i like the rhythm of the melody (and the melody itself or more precisely their conjugation). found it a little repetitive.

something about just makes it not so interesting to me

i'd built it up in my mind from the title and desc but maybe i fail at appreciating music

The repetition's kind of intentional in that I wanted to compose something like a Nintendo theme song (which tend to repeat a billion times while you're playing a level). I did something similar with the song "I Am Error" which I posted on acidplanet over a year ago if your curious. Perhaps that one succeeded better.
