Amorphous Androgynous/ FSOL - Alice in Ultraland

well there are some good tracks on here, but it reallllly drops off into noisy eastern shit with extremely bad vocals (someone needs to tell FSOL to shut the fuck or outsource their vocals like they did early on in the album to some degree of success). but there's a funkish track on there that sounds fantastic, like really really really good, worth checking out. it's early on/ middle of the album.

but yeah, continuing in the direction the isness started in, which for many is a complete drag, but i quite liked the isness. but more of the exact same it almost seems . . . not that interesting. especially with this dude caterwauling throughout the entire album (but at least he admits it at some point . . . he talks about something caterwauling and i'm like, dude, that's what you're doing!). but when the chick sings or when there are no vocals it's okay stuff.

obviously dead cities is a thing of the past innit, we have to deal with this new age shit for another couple years

i was about to buy this the other day with xmas vouchers.

instead, i got depeche mode singles 86-98.

think i made the right choice.

i quite liked this one..maybe even more than the isness..i was thinking of picking this one up, but noticed it had copy protection, so unless i find the US version without the protection, i wont be buying this one.

im still hoping the dudes will be going back to the more electronicky sound, which made me fall in love with FSOL in the first place.

what you think of their singing?

the singing didn't bother me that much...i don't really pay that much attention to it...that onion song or whatever its called is pretty neat..

I downloaded a few tracks from the new album, mmm very crap, very self indulgent hippy rubbish. FSOL were fuckin amazing for a good few years. Accelerator is mind blowing!, i remember first hearing that and demanding to know what it was. Lifeforms and Papa New Guinea are also fantastic. It's a real shame cause they seem to have lost the plot completely.

didnt like accelerator so much. just thought id let you know.
