Squee
I've been told that I am to arrange some visuals live for a rather big afterparty in the beginning of august, and I've never had to do anything live. I've just made them on my computer, burned them onto a DVD and handed it over to whoever might be in charge of it. So my question is: Is there a program where I can switch between visuals whenever I want to? For instance if at one point the music slows down or there's a break I want my visuals to follow that, so I could switch visuals... just like in Traktor or Ableton but with videos instead. Anyone got any ideas? Pretty please with sugar on the top Edited July 14, 2007 by Squee Thanks Haha Confused Sad Facepalm Burger Farnsworth Big Brain Like × Quote Hide all signatures Link to comment https://forum.watmm.com/topic/23510-arranging-visuals-live/ Share on other sites

But, is it possible to import videos into Resolume? Jon124
yea, go with resolume then. it works kind of like a mixer, you have 3 input channels, all mixed into one output channel. you can load any clip into any channel on the fly, by triggering with a midi controller or just clicking. yes you can import video files, flash (swf) files, and pictures. then you can use realtime effects etc. download it and mess with it, you'll get the hang of it in about 15 minutes. you can control the speed, opacity, etc of every channel heres a basement show I was using resolume at a few weeks ago - cant see to much but you can see it works pretty good Thanks Haha Confused Sad Facepalm Burger Farnsworth Big Brain Like × Quote Hide Jon124's signature Hide all signatures Aphex_Squarepusher_Twin said: otherwise i don't know this "Tetris Motherfucka", is it an ambient track? Jon124
excellent just remember for fast performance you want to encode all the videos you use in resolume to a certain spec, I cant remember what it is offhand. its in the resolume online manual somewhere let me know how the event goes Squee said: BUt... here's my question: Do you have the original version of this... or.... can you hook me up? just saw this post check your pm's in a couple minutes Thanks Haha Confused Sad Facepalm Burger Farnsworth Big Brain Like × Quote Hide Jon124's signature Hide all signatures Aphex_Squarepusher_Twin said: otherwise i don't know this "Tetris Motherfucka", is it an ambient track? Squee
Ok, so now I've tried a few of the programs you guys have mentioned, and somehow they just don't fall in good hands. How come I can't find a simple VJ program like Traktor, where you can fade your videos in and out? I don't plan on using any of the effects in the VJ programs, all I want to do is trigger the samples and fade them in and out. Jon124
resolume has opacity control (fading) for every channel. I link mine to a fader on my midi controller and fadefadefade Thanks Haha Confused Sad Facepalm Burger Farnsworth Big Brain Like × Quote Hide Jon124's signature Hide all signatures Aphex_Squarepusher_Twin said: otherwise i don't know this "Tetris Motherfucka", is it an ambient track?
