Guest JW Modestburns
Not a bad bunch of sketches. I liked the jungle track. I think the main synth line could use some work tho. Guest Promo
FedEx was not bad. Thought the harmonies were a little simple though. Too early to know how something such as this could develop though. Perhaps add a layer of acid squelchiness and some stabby 80s synths. Beat could be beefier too. 'Hot_dog' - quite liking the vibe of this one ... lektro. The right additions to this could be totally killer. Grabbed me pretty early on. Junglefever - Aphex. Synths are very Aphexual. Be keen to hear how this develops. Pine - reminds me of SOR3 Yuzo Koshiro minimalist techno. Not sure if this grabbed me musically in the same way as the others but I like the production and the sounds. Plaztech is cool. Like that kinda of weird ass vocally voice thing. Nice deep oldskool housey/techno bass. Quirky and funky. Again eager to hear more develop on this. Oh yeah if you could put some loops up for these tracks I'd love to have a stab at them/remix and hopefully I won't totally destroy them. Sounds like a good idea, what would you need? samples of beat loops, synth loops? let me know. Yeah, probably synth loops, basslines, melodies and some key beats as wavs. Quote Link to comment https://forum.watmm.com/topic/23522-scatter-brain/#findComment-501570 Share on other sites
Guest Glass Plate
I dunno, I mean I'm about as bad when it comes to this, but you should try to make it a bit less obvious that it's all made in FL, if it's not then I'm just lost. Guest tht! tne
i can't name it but Glass Plate's right there does seem to be an fl quality to these... i really like the melody on hot_dog and the beats to a slightly lesser extent; the gongs crashing are kinda fresh junglefever also has a nice enigmatic melody; i think the minimal drum programming highlights these melodies pine i like the sound used for the main melody, and this one progresses well out of all 6 i think i like psilocybe the best, can't put my finger on why though Quote Link to comment https://forum.watmm.com/topic/23522-scatter-brain/#findComment-502822 Share on other sites
m.leafeater.dl
thanks. too bad I overwrote the file to psilocybe, I might try to remake it.. Well, I'm making these tracks in Reason, maybe that's what you guys are hearing. Plus, they're all just "off the top of the head" random ideas, mostly all of the synths I used on them are untouched factory sounds. Mastering Reason tracks has always been an issue for me though. I can never seem to get the overall sound I want, it's always got a subtle "plastic" feel to it, but I love making tracks in Reason.
