D'arcangelo - Eksel

The D'Arcangelo brothers have returned with more of what they do best - pure electronic music. I don't feel there's a massive progression with this album and it lacks the aggression of their earlier releases on Rephlex (e.g. D'Arcangelo EP), but it makes for superb electro-ambient electronic music. This will be an album I will go back to listening again and again. Great for in the car, headphones, work, rest and play. 4 out of 5

i didn't think they could top Broken Toys Corner, but they did. more focus on sublime melody than rhythm. awesome.

i think btc was one of their worst full-lenght so far.. yet still its quite good.

this one tho.. is i think their best.. even better than shipwreck and monomorph albums...

i've havent heard it yet, might buy it this week (so many good releases this year!!). if this one is even better than BTC i should love it.

i wish more people would do this so i can start buying more music and not listening to ten year old Warp, schematic, and choc ind. releases..

just caught this Eksel album, its a true masterpiece!! after one listening experience it sounds like their most emotional recording so far.

I have decided I like the second half of the album best. Like from Sundart on. Asker probably being my favorite. I am really digging Sundart though. I was listening to it today and almost fell asleep, but in a really good way, ya dig??

Yeah, Sundart is a killer track, along with Elix.

Heard these guys and this album for the first time after a rec from a friend. Really enjoying this album one of the best electronic music releases in a while (not that theres been many good ones..)

I know it's been 4 years, but I just finished listening to Eksel again and it's fantastic. After coming off a "hype-wave" with acts like Burial and the Field who are getting rave reviews by critics and fans (not me), I can't help but feel as though people are slightly misguided when artists like D'Arcangelo go unnoticed.
