just a start really but it's got something going on, felt like sharing :) freeform is an obvious influence.

sounds pretty good, but i can't really tell on these shitty pc speakers here at work. I'l give it another listen when i get home.

hmmm, it has potential but it still sounds kinda messy imo. it sounds like this track could develop into something pretty cool.

I didn't get it. Couldn't follow what was going on with the melodies, even after the beat entered. Sounds like you know what you're doing, tho, so whatever. I will listen again when it's finished.

definitely like that gangster feel you're talking about. it sounded more like cartoony than video gamey to me but i'll try to exploit that ganster fantasy idea in the development.

this is ok but not as good as usual imo

! there is nothing free-jazzy about that! a litlle jazzy but that's all. i corrected a few melodies to make it less busy because it is a little messy sometimes but they're only minor changes (file not updated).

file updated, the track's not structured yet but i've got imo solid moments. need to find a way to tie them up and work the transitions. need to record the guitars again, they're definitely not in rhythm! might have to change my kicks, too...

I think it's easy to lose track of where the groove lies in this piece as is, but if you added something tapping along in quarter beats it could rectify that --if a listener came in part way through the track, they'd probably have a hard time catching on. Or if there were a more defined sounding kick drum that could help too, maybe with just certain bits accented with a more punchy kick sound. I do like the freeform nature of it, like a computerized jazz band. Very cool composition. I really like the chord structures.
