Maskine - Kouhii

This has taken me forever to put together, but I think I'm finally there. I'm not quite sure whether or not the main part should go for another loop or not, but that's up to you to decide.

EDIT: By the way, can anyone tell me why above-mentioned track won't play on MySpace? It just keeps on loading and loading.

Major MS player issues all round just now I think, especially with adding new tracks. Anyway, checked this out Squee, good sampled intro, fits well with the warmth of the synths. The slow pulse of the beats compliment this one well, it's atmospheric, really chilled. Sounds like you took the time with it, it's got definite replayability. Good work.

The myspace player is the most unreliable crap player ever conceived. I've given up on listening to things on myspace. It's a losing battle.

I think this would have fit right in with the DSC compilation. Nice pad work, very chill ambience. I think it could use a bit more meat, perhaps have it build more towards the end. It's good background music as is, but with a bit more action it would be a good focussed listen as well.

So what you mean is that before it goes all downtempo again with the strings etc. it should build up so it just doesn't loop and so the breakdown feels more powerful? cool vocal sample. i like the two chords you use in your pads, but it stays on those for a long time with only very subtle build-ups. i guess if you're going for a more ambient vibe then that fits.

i like the reverb on your little clack-snare thing. i'd enjoy hearing that up more in the mix, although again i guess that would go against the more laid-back vibe.

i'm glad you finally changed the pads a bit at 2:36 because i was getting pretty tired of those two chords over and over.

i could definitely see this track getting longer and using the higher-pitched beepy notes you bring in toward teh end as a loop, with the kind of dubby, delayed swoosh that fades in going in waves overtop, and bringing that percussion out like you do just briefly at 3:11-3:15.

I agree that the pad gets a bit out of control and needs to be stopped at one point as the track opens up, and could perhaps be brought back as the track is hits the climax... yeah, I know, it's not much of a climax, but anyway...

Maybe I should tear the track apart and put it together in a whole new way? That might just work.
