i myself don't own a pair of tt's but some day in the near future i can see myself with a setup. are the mk2's the ones to get or mk 5's?

the only reason i would go the turntable route is well, i collect vinyl i love it, but i definatley see the benefits of a system like traktor.

i've played around with tt's though, my friend owns a pair, i've mostly just scratch and done silly things, never attempted to beat match... i've heard they are a lot of fun to get blazed and then just mix mix mix yer favorite rekkids. i bet. yes.

they seem to be a pretty intense investment though but one that keeps on giving.

any good stories....?

feedback

what other mediums do you use to mix?

anybody here scratch?

anybody have a redidency or ever had?

gooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

I am a DJ. Bought Technics 1210s about 5 years ago and have been hooked ever since. Youre righ, tis lots of fun mixing your favourite records together. Learned to mix, played some parties, a few bars, the odd club, etc. Im no Jeff Mills but Im just enjoying myself, doing the odd gig here and there and making mixes

Got some CDJs recently after playing in a club and there being no TT's. They are undoubtedly the way forward. As everyone wants to play on CDJs these days, TTs have dropped massively in price and you can get a decnt pair on ebay for about £200 ($350?) I paid £700 for mine!!

Get a decent mixer aswell. Ive got a pioneer DJM400 which is basic but decent enough, the FX are brilliant

-any good stories. loads. cant think of any at the mo. maybe in a bit

what other mediums do you use to mix? Traktor, Abelton a bit but its just not as fun

anybody here scratch? no dont sctrach cos I play techno

anybody have a redidency or ever had? nope but played out loads of times

I use Stanton C 314 turntables and Stanton SMX 501 mixer which is the best DJ mixer out there. These machines are great for rolling hiphop and dance music in the same set. My kind of night! You can get all three for 900 €. Yes DJing is an expansive hoby.

I only own one 1200md3 and a decent mixer. But ive had a lot of fun trying to mix stuff in the past (to a shittier turntable thats near worthless).

I am thinking about trying to mix vinyl/mp3s together, since i'm only going to buy vinyl once every blue moon and im mp3 collection is growing increasingly larger.

I might just try fucking around mixing from the TT to audacity or traktor and just go back and forth for the hell of it. Turntables are so expensive i could never afford them unless i wanted to sell some of my music production equipment :(

I also really want to learn how to scratch. I fuck around every once and a while but i can never make anything cool.

used to dj at a few clubs/parties about a decade ago. detroit, chicago and new york techno/house/soul.

two 1210's (mkII) and a mixer with a 3 band split per channel.

i was pretty good... not content with beatmatching, i like to match keys/vocal parts etc.

i like the look of final scratch, but traktor and cd decks don't interest me.. i have no need for a bpm counter... i can ACTUALLY mix... BY EAR.

don't spin much anymore, but i can still build a kickass set.

have a couple of thousand old techno/house records that i rarely playt these dayts. i could probably make a mint putting together early 90's nostalgia sets though. for the discerning clubber.

shame ecstasy is shite nowadays.
