a lil soothing noise

some saw II style ambient i guess. i was talking with, er, BoomTssPhace i think he is on watmm, over aim, and dicking around with synths. he linked me this - http://www.archive.org/details/ird059 -and some of it found its way into the recording. i recorded a lot more, this is just a short extract i liked....

he said he'd look for it on watmm tomorrow, so here it is today.

i like it! a little soothing, a little disconcerting, a combination I enjoy.

the SAW2 comparison is apt.

the fact that it was advertised as short was a deciding factor for me choosing to download and listen to it

I love those number stations, look back in EKT and I did an ambient bit with a german number station in it, cool stuff.

Make it longer though, also I was left wanting more spectral diversity, like something cascading in from a HP filter sweep panning left to right in counter-time to the number counts.

i didn't like it much except for the "yankee hotel foxtrot" business

incidentally that is the only bit i really liked out of that album by wilco

i appreciate the attempt at impressionism but i just found it boring and felt robbed of my time after it was over
