Guest splagawaga
having had a stressful dry spell, pretty much since glade. this track popped out of a piano noodling i had at a friends house. Ive had 2 late night sittings with it so far but its reached 4am and ive got a thumping headache. Im interested in any criticism as to the flow from section to section and obviously anything thats glaringly obvious with the mix. i think this is a little different to other stuff ive put up on here before. we'll see. enjoy! Guest Rook
The clicking in the beginning reminds me of autechre. This is sweet. Would have went well on the Deep Sea comp. Have any more tracks I could check out? Quote Link to comment https://forum.watmm.com/topic/25309-wagawaga-yudo/#findComment-535153 Share on other sites

Guest Promo
This is quite tasty. The key here is the tasty melodies. Yeah, I have to confess this does have an air of superior quality about it. Builds nicely through out. I have to say some amen bizness would have made a nice addition half way through or perhaps its yet to come. Acidness bit is fonky. Cool. This is a decent little track. Surprised you managed to stay clear of not adding an amen but yeah impressive. Production is pretty sick too. Love the nastiness of the ending ... dope. Nice transition back to those soft harmonies too. Quote Link to comment https://forum.watmm.com/topic/25309-wagawaga-yudo/#findComment-535454 Share on other sites

Zephyr_Nova
Your drum programming skillz is off the hizzy. I like your choice of sounds too. The light background ambience is a nice contrast. It gives it just enough form to hold it all together. Nice call on the acid bassline. I'm surprised I've been listening for 4 minutes already. They flew by! Sweet. Really nice work right here. Love the effects. It's rare that a track in YLC can hold my attention for 7 minutes, but this one's an exception. Look forward to hearing more. Nice transition back to those soft harmonies too. haha, i toyed with the idea of dropping an amen towards the end but i didnt think it would fit with the other palette of sounds, and also would shit the mood back into a more grounded generic err thing. i settled on a light thinkbeat instead :) couldnt resist some acidy stuff tho. i was thinking about possibly adding more embellishment to the drums and singular quirky noises to keep the spice going, but ive already listened to it about 20 times today and its becoming settled. thanks for the comments. Guest yan_g
the click sounds more aphexish than autechreish to me, but great anyway. don't know what the other sounds remind me of. yes! ochre! the transitions work pretty well. not fond of the chords+melodies. nothing wrong mixwise for me. the track does get more intense as it evolves. nice change @ 3:00 (sounded way shorter than 3:00 by the way). the acid synth comes in greatly, then the beat comes back right on time. i would've added another synth tho at that moment, as those already in place sound really far in the mix, it would make that moment more intense imo. the 4:43 mark is great too, great beat fuckery. your little rhythmic sounds are great. the transition to the last part is pretty smooth tho i defo don't like the jazzy pads. the only bad side in the track according to my taste. deserves its place in the watmm hall of fame anyway :thumb up: Quote Link to comment https://forum.watmm.com/topic/25309-wagawaga-yudo/#findComment-536752 Share on other sites
