While I'm still listening thru it as we speak, my first impression is it's a good album. It's unmistakeably Cylob using all those signature dry FM synth type melodies and a development of the vocoder voice effects he's been using a lot on recent releases. Some people criticished the Trojan Style Fade for lack of melody, that was such a bollocks statement when this release proves he's arguably one of the more melodies electronic music technicians around. OK, some of the sounds are purposely 'de-tuned' but it's melody never the less. Formant Potation is of a slower pace compared to other releases so this is an album to ponder while you work, rest orplay. Standout tracks: "How Will I Die" (although it has a main melody that you have heeard once before on Trojan Style Fader), "I Want To See You Naked", "Be My Waveguide" which he used on that ace video he made called "Spring": http://www.mediafire.com/?bhdihmlvmys

Great release to add to any self-respecting Cytlob fan's collection.

I kinda lost faith in him after Mood Bells, but will check this out. How is the Music System 12's and Spider Report btw?

both really good - music system is quite inharmonius in places with that trademark Cylob noise in it a lot, you know the beeeyoooweewin type one...... Spider Report is all wicked also.

music system 1 & 2 are my favorite LPs by him besides Lobster tracks. Excellent neo 80s electronic music glitch madness.
