Girl Boy Remix Tracks

What was your first reaction to the vocaded parts on the Girl Boy remix tracks. I thought they were pretty fucking hilarious. My first venture into glitch humor.

I think this was RDJ's first step into being truly different. Not musically different, but different as in his content and his voice usage(or vocading). Those tracks were just weird, compare those to any tech-no artists of the time or NOW, and they are just as bizzare. The only strange or weird or whatever you wanna call it track he made before this was Children Talking, IMHO.

I have to disagree. In 1991, Glass Domain (a Drexciya spinoff) had a song called "Fairy", where they say:

wow that sounds like an interesting track. I wasn't trying to refer to RDJ as the first person to make weird electronic music. I was just saying, in general, he was one of very few electronic artists at the time doing things like Glass Domain did earlier.

but think of this... It's very hard to understand an artists thru their music and their music alone. And since tech-no is one of the more generic sounding genres of music it's even harder. But RDJ created a persona that his fans could relate to and associate with thru these funky songs. If you listen to most vocaded parts in his songs they sound similar, and his sense of humor is always the same. So It's not like it's just some random funny shit sprinkled in, it's all very familiar and became characteristic of RDJ. Plus RDJ was more mainstream than some other more alternative and "weird" sounding artists so he obviously got more exposure.

I just thought it was fine, fine and dandy. I was super sure it was fine, sure as buttons, chief.
