Hail, WATMM!

I'm a 16 year old Drum&Bass/Trance/Big Beat/Breakbeat producer from Essex, to make my music I use Cubase SE3, a Roland PCR-300 and lots of VSTi. I've been making music on the computer for a few months and think I'm doing quite well so far.

My music can be found at www.myspace.com/joeyewen

Feedback would be appreciated.

Cheers,

Joey Ewen

You probably won't get too many hits on here since most of the electronic music crowd doesnt have the stomache for trance/bigbeat. But ive got a soft spot for you since you're a young producer as i am.

i'll let you know:

first of all, make your tracks downloadable. Nothing i hate more than people linking their myspaces with no downloadable tracks. Listen to my music! Look but don't touch!

Wake up: Not bad, there's some good stuff in here, but the vocals carry most of the song and are a bit bubblegum and need some EQ/effects.

Phat: Pretty dirty. Dare i say even raw. I like the fuckery with the vocal sample. Cool Bassline phaser thing, but a bit caustic for a bassline. Wouldn't be able to turn this up too loud without people flinching

The Rebel: I hate the EQ on this break you used (i think this is the amen?) Very loud and tinny. No body.

Outlawed: The bouncy synth that comes in around 1 minute is pretty cool. And at times seems like all the elements are a bit too much (though i guess sometimes a desired effect in this type of music)

Gloria: Again, that choir-vocal stab you have in there is too loud/caustic and kind of ruins the nice melodies you got goin. This would be my favourite track if it werent for that sample you keep using.

So all that said, you are definitely on the right track to making some ace tracks. It'd be embarassing to show you the tracks i was making at your age. Keep makin music. You'll be signed in no time.

Thank you for the great advice! I will think about what you said when making my next tune ^^
