I think it would be nice to have a list of WATMM recommendations regarding what to read on the subject of arranging sound and silence in time.

YES! that was the first thing i thought of when i saw this thread. excellent book, more than 900 pages on basically every synthesis technique - from subtractive, additive, and granular (which Roads basically pioneered) to exotic stuff like waveterrain, wavelet and some physical modelling like waveguide-based techniques.

great book, very indepth yet compact. all of roads' literature is great, his book on granular synthesis (Microsound) is excellent also.

this is a great forum for "tapers" or people into live music recording / field recording. you'll find a wealth of information on all sorts of portable recorder models and fixes / mods / analysis of them. i recommend for anyone curious about field recording.
