Breakcore/Pop/Industrial hybrid and a re-introduction

Hi everyone

I used to hang around these boards a couple of years ago. I think i went under the name beta.

As this forum is called your latest creations I thought I would update the board on what Ive been up to, and how all the knowledge ive gained from this board has been put to use.

I'm now in a live band going under the name the Walk Of. We have a small record deal, and have supported people like !!!, Shitmat and Hellfish. And it wouldnt really of happened had it not been for watmmers!

Anyway here is a quick master of the most recent complete track. Not entirely finished yet but comments would be good as always to help it along the way.

Does your drummer also control a sampler for the amen's and stuff?

no drummer. They make too many mistakes. Just vocals, guitar, synth and a dancing bear.

The live set is all about being as entertaining as possible, no standing around behind a laptop etc.

Wait, so you weren't joking about the dancing bear?

very nice. i had a short affair with !!! and battles earlier this year... so my ears are well suited to mashup stuff like this...

this is the kind of thing i absolutely would love to see live, but might not listen to much personally (blah, my own opinion doesn't really matter).

musically, its great, very interesting... lots of tension, strange pitches, everything works quite well together.

its way more punk that !!! and battles though...

this is right dope....... totallly something im gonna look out for, vocals are too upfront in the mix or eq'd wrong or sumthin - overall the recording sounds awesome - this is definitely sumthing that would sound right gay if production were too clean

Cheers mindkontrolultra ill have a fiddle with the vocals see what i can do about them. We know about that clean thing is very obvious when you drop most of the distortion we use.

I should have mentioned punk really in the title. We started trying to be like !!! but ended up getting more and more extreme. So now we got 200bpm melt your face tracks.

some of the vocals are too far in the mix. the amen sounds terrible. that said my audio system couldn't be considered a reference :) but i do thing the amen deserves heavy eqing.

In what way do you think it needs eqing? I thought it sounded alright!

dunno, sounds messy in the lows (narrow the boost?) and not punchy enough in the highs (boost a little?)

edit: then again it sounds different on every system, maybe it's just mine, nobody else complained about that...

definitely punk... could almost call this stuff "IDH" as in intelligint digital hardcore ... definitely better than belladonnakillz - which is the only other pop/breakcore/whatever hybrid i can think of
