kaini
Quote A new dawn awaits!! Southern Lord Recordings and Om have set October 2nd as the official release date for their 3rd (first on Southern Lord) full-length album!! This beast is entitled: “Pilgrimage†and was recorded at Electrical Audio in Chicago, IL. by Steve Albini. The album is currently being mastered by Bob Weston (also in Shellac) at Chicago Mastering Services. “Pilgrimage†expands on their unique use of riff,,, cadence…chant..as heard on previous recordings yet finds the band expanding their vision into new territories. Of particular note is how much the song-writing has developed and in turn makes the dynamics of the songs much more intensely powerful. The track-listing for “Pilgrimage†is as follows: 1. Pilgrimage 2. Unitive Knowledge of the Godhead 3. Bhimas Theme 4. Pilgrimage (reprise) more fantastic buddhist mantra-ish stoner metal. they seem to have learnt the value of laying back on the distortion even more than on 'conference of the birds', parts of this are almost spirit-of-eden-era talk talk and shit. although some of it is heavy as fuck. cos they're a duo they can fuck around with dynamics and tempo and lay in and out of the groove in a lovely intuitive way. i love it. err and it's leaked obv Edited September 19, 2007 by kaini Thanks Haha Confused Sad Facepalm Burger Farnsworth Big Brain Like × Quote Hide kaini's signature Hide all signatures On 5/7/2013 at 11:06 PM, ambermonk said: I know IDM can be extreme On 6/3/2017 at 11:50 PM, ladalaika said: this sounds like an airplane landing on a minefield Link to comment https://forum.watmm.com/topic/26243-om-pilgrimage/ Share on other sites

Guest WWBJD
Saw them last night at the "Wall of Sound" festival in Ft. Worth. One of the stand-out bands for sure.. had never heard them before, but bought their back catalogue at Good Records today to give it a go. But goddamn their songs are long.
