9 albums in a year tho.... offhand i'd predict output of this intensity to be fairly average.

Most of the 9 albums are stuff he's been working on for a while. Cex used to be a 1-2 albums a year guy up until 2004 when he slowed down.

MFIX9303 is something I maybe mentioned before: DANNIBAL, a full 40-minute tribute to the best two producers that ever manned a mixing board-- a legendary duo whose sharp & dark commentary on our culture seems more piercing than ever before and seems to grow ever more potent with age, no mean feat in the era of disposable everything and ubiquitous planned obsolesence. I am not on some MySpace band one-sheet bullshit when I tell you that this my favorite Cex album so far (at least til I get the vox down on DOOMSTEP...)-- and I highly recommend this album be enjoyed at least once the way I first took it in after finishing these beats: start-to-finish on a walkman while out with your friends. Yeah, checkit: I did the final mix of DANNIBAL minutes before I had to hop into a friend's van to go to the Talking Head and see another friend's band play. Because I was rolling with employees of the club, I was arriving a good hour or more before the show was to get properly underway, so I clicked on DANNIBAL during the car ride down and didn't stop it (or speak to anyone) until it had finished. The result was sublime-- a dramatic coloring of an otherwise familiar scenario, like seeing an unusually prescient film from before you were born. Did I really even make these bangers? I'm pretty sure I did

Went to see he and Eight Frozen Modules play a show......

Ken Gibson fucking tore it up....

Cex was goofy and funny as fuck.....

but the whole white boy rapper persona he took on after having released two classic electronic music albums was disappointing to me......

so I bought the 8fm cd they were selling, 'Thought Process Disorder' (which is bad ass)..........

went up to Cex and asked him to sign it, as a joke......

He didn't find it very funny.....

my little hint that he should be a top electronic music producer and not a Wierd Al White Boy Rap rip off....

get sketchi, is the most "electronic music" thing he has sone since first 2 albums (tho wouldnt say it sounds anything like them) & is also prob his best album imo
