Richard's Piano Influences

Has Mr. James ever mentioned any piano players that he was inspired by on his piano tracks. I know about the John Cage influence but has he ever mentioned which artists he was influenced by for the more conventional songs?

I think Cage is mostly for technique.

Otherwise, Debussy for Boxing Day(i guess)

i don't think rdj knows how to read notes... he just has got a lot of experience and plays around a lot with his machines/his computer.

Yeah I read that he doesn't know how to read notes, but he might have learned in the 7 years since the article was written...

you dont need to know how to read notes to be influenced by piano musics.
