Guest Promo
http://www.ableton.com/live-7-whats-new Liking the idea of the drum rack ... that's definitely something that was needed but by god the key/drum editing sucks so badly within Ableton. If there is one thing to improve in my mind it was the unusable key editing. I do so sadly miss the ease of which one could lay down some beats with earlier versions of Cubase but now even the drum editing in the most recent versions of Cubase sucks so badly. Really I don't think I've found a sequencer beyond Cubase vst 2.4 with an intuitive and fast drum editor. Fruity Loops had a decent editor especially for newbies but to me wasn't a patch on the older versions of Cubase. ten fingers ten toes
Trackers are great for drum programming. You could always run EnergyXT inside of Cubase (it's a VST), or use JACK to sync Renoise or any other MIDI tracker to whatever host you like. Bubba69
energyXT isn't a tracker. reViSiT is though, and its just a vst that has either midi or audio out. Its also free if you've got the hookup: http://www.nashnet.co.uk/english/revisit/download.htm its pretty sweet. the only reason I would run energyXT inside of cubase is to use the slicer. ten fingers ten toes
bah, got EnergyXT and Revisit mixed up. Still best to just use Jack to sync anything you want. ryancolecreate
I was using Ableton and got spanked by the copy pro. shit. damn. Now I am using Logic exp. which pisses me off daily. You think the editing sucks in Ableton, give Logic a try. It blows. The quant. function is 'non-destructive' meaning that if you change the quant. perameters o the track all your notes re-snap. guuuuhhhh.... I am regularly using Adobe sw at work and when I come home and make music I am disturbingly aware of how under-developed a lot of music pro software is. I mean Native Instruments shit is buggy, Logic's shit is buggy.....Whats the deal. I'll just do everything in super collider. :) Thanks Haha Confused Sad Facepalm Burger Farnsworth Big Brain Like × Quote Hide ryancolecreate's signature Hide all signatures ------ dailyambient.com ------ New Ambient Music Every Day.
