Don't mind the drums at the end of the track, because that's not how I want them to be. I want some deep, heavy, slow, dubby (DUB...not dubstep) drums instead, but it seems as if I don't have the samples for that sort of stuff, so if anyone has any awesome drumsamples I'd love to hear them.

Srroy, I'm just getting to listen to the track now as I have to go to the library now for high speed.

I wouldn't know what drum samples that would sound good. But I like what I hear so far and it sounds like the track would really take off.

When looking around for minimal music, I keep on see "dub" all around. On so I wikipedia'd dub music, and found out it started when people would slow down reggae. I like this a lot and what you do with the pads. The may be off topic to your original thread, but you seem to have insight on this type of production as you helped me out with good tips that i tried out yesterday.

anyway, with dub, is it bassically playing a pad then fading it away and having it come in again. It seems you need the right delay techniques. Any tips of this. If you don't care to reply on this, no worries...I just figured I'd ask. :)

Hehe, once again thanks for the kind words. As a matter of fact I don't any dub theories at all... and I don't really think that there are any. There are dub GODS, though. And the name is Rhythm and Sound.

http://www.boomkat.com/search.cfm?q=rhythm+and+sound

What I really like about them is that their tunes are rather simple and don't really evolve all that much, but still you want to keep on listening, because it's so god damn relaxing. Other than you should search for "Basic Channel", which is practically the same but a bit more techno-ish, so there might be something for you right there :)

To answer your question about the "dub sound", it's not really all about fading in and out and adding delay - well, that's actually a big part of it - but you can use pretty much any syntesized sound, reversering it, adding delay and reverb, reversing it again, adding those lovely and warm organ stabs to them etc. It's all about fooling around with the "dub chords/stabs", and creating a nice and warm athmosphere - and a catchy bassline of course :)

Ah, I love talking about this genre, because there are so many great artists to dig into. The two I've mentioned above are gods (basic channel is actually not a band, artist or whatever. It's more of a genre/label/band...yeah, it's confusing) within this genre, but you should also check out Deadbeat (check out his New World Observer), Banzai Republic (AMAZING! I don't know where to get their stuff though, but you can check them out @ http://www.myspace.com/banzairepublic ), Monolake (it's a bit more techno-ish, but stilll...) etc.
