I personally disagree with this view. Closing yourself off to inspiration from other music kinda blinds you on what you can hope to achieve, I wouldn't be anywhere near as creative if I prevented myself from listening to other styles, production techniques etc. etc.

This is how I am too, I'd like to try and cut myself off though as an experiment or something though.

Facinating interview. I wasn't sure which guy it was until near the end, in which case I was saddened. I don't agree with the 100% isolationist view toward music but I suppose it has it's advantages.
