processing hard beats

some would be able to guess what tune this is from, but what could make big beats like this? digital synths? drum machines with loads of knob fuckery and programming? or just good old compression and EQing.. and remember, this is not for everyone.. Wipeout should ring a bell

Sounds like a snazzy chemical drumkit. To me it sounds mostly snare/fx, not much focus on rides or kick, so id say just compression/eq does the trick.

Not really what i think of when i think of a hard beat though. Needs a big clicky kick or somethin

definitely sounds like theres parts where the reverb cuts off because a new sound starts

could just be a beat gated and then run thru overdrive and reverb
