YEK Posted October 25, 2007 Report Share Posted October 25, 2007 my setup now is a yamaha a5000 sampler and an emu xl7 which i'm waiting to arrive in the post. the thing is i've always wanted an mpc and i realize if i sold these two units i could afford an mpc... should i do it? pylonbitch Posted October 25, 2007 Report Share Posted October 25, 2007 no sequencer/daw/whatever? i'm assuming this is not the case. 6 and half a dozen mate. the emu is a nice piece of old kit. those yamaha samplers beat the shit out of the old akais if i remember rightly. still, you'd get more headroom out of a decent pc and some vst's ... it's all digital domain after all. if hardware 'hands on' is your thing, then spend the extra cash and get some good controller hardware. (my two cents worth, tho not preceded by 'hay guyz', or Q... so probably worthless.)
