Two new(ish) Skink tracks

These tracks are more like ideas and will probably end up being very different. However I like the way they work and wonder if you have any comments.

I'm getting somewhat of a GSY!BE feel on the first one, but I feel like the sound is too... distant. Like I'm listening from a few hundred feet away. Can't say that I really enjoyed the nearly silent/scratchy/hissy part in the middle. Overall I enjoyed selected bits and pieces of it, wish it was mixed slightly louder, and perhaps had a bit more cohesion, but I'm guessing that's not what you were going for anyway.

Second one, interesting/soothing sound to begin with. Can't say I really approve of bird samples though. I kept begging for the organ sound at 2:05 to develop into even a simple melody. I feel that would have made the whole experience really powerful. I do also have a soft spot for organlike sounds with a deep background hum. I like the crackly, degraded texture of it all. Like the popular movie imagery of post apocalyptic Earth.

All told, to me it does a very good job of not being so much listening music, but something that integrates itself into the experience around you, altering your mood in whatever other activity you might be doing while it is playing, which is cool.

I do get what you mean about the first one. I have a few other ideas that i have tried with it but they are in no way ready yet. The second one is really really just two pieces botched together. I don't really approve of the bird samples either. They will be taken out. They have annoyed me the last few times i have checked back. Thankyou for taking the time to listen. It is much appreciated.

I really like these tracks. The second one is better than the first, but that's just my taste. I agree with what TFTT said about the potential of a melody in the second song. You should've gone for it! Anyways, still a supreme song and I hope to hear more from you.
