linux friendly MIDI interfaces?

I haven't really looked into this yet but I bet some of you guys know. I'm hoping I can get my m-audio midisports to work... cause if they do I will probably get a 2x2 version for my laptop

They work like a charm. Well, most of a charm. The only issue I had with mine was that, because of the way JACK works, it reads MIDIsport interfaces as "sound devices", because to JACK sound and midi are all lumped into one category. So anyway, I had to do a bit of conf rewriting to make sure it loaded my Delta-66 as the default sound device and the midisport as the default midi device. But, both work great now in pd so all is well.

Err, the clarify, the problem was that it was reading the midisport as a sound device and making it the default sound device, which obviously doesn't work well when trying to hear things.

hey i think i remember someone (maybe you?) mentioning that someone made a G2 editor for linux, are there any G1 editors out there? i wanna start bringing my micro modular around with my laptop

Yes, Nomad is a Java based editor for the Nord G1, and works great in Linux!

yeah in my experience its mostly automatic.
