Guest dolex
This album defines the Aphex sound. It never gets old, and nothing lives up to it. If I'm in a bad mood; I can put it on, and I'm not 45 minutes later. Every single song is total classic, but a few are absolutely legendary. ps I like to think of the original UK LP + Girl/Boy EP as one entity to clear up any US/UK discrepancies. Guest contrapunctus
why hasn't anyone mentioned the fact that girl/boy song is still one of the best songs to ever be produced by the genre great little album, like sawII and drukqs better though Quote Link to comment https://forum.watmm.com/topic/2823-richard-d-james-album/#findComment-59269 Share on other sites
Guest Morgan Dunn
The RDJ Album is my favorite album by Aphex...Drukqs and 26 Mixes for Cash come close though. The RDJ Album such a great composite of his work...it covers alot of ground. A bit of everything. Beautiful music. I listen to it alot. Yay. Zephyr_Nova
The RDJ album has some of the catchiest melodies on any electronic music album I've heard. His percussion is so sharp on this one, hurts my ears on headphones sometimes, but in a good way... like tiny knives cutting intricate beats into my auditory canals. Very unique release, quite groundbreaking for its time. Druqs is my favorite all round Aphex album. Some of those prepared piano tracks are absolutely gorgeous, and the beats are just so damn cheeky. It's a hardon of a double album to be sure. I'm still trying to understand what's so great about Analord. This ldpinch track is pretty cool. Interesting detuned synths.
