Goiter Sanchez
Could anyone help me in my quest to find these? Getting a physical copy of the Japanese CDs is almost out of the question; I've never, ever seen them for sale anywhere, though if I found one I would buy them for a reasonable price... Incase anyone is interested I have a .FLAC copy of 'Medrey' from the Japanese version of Tri Repetae to trade. Guest Enter a new display name
Zurich 2001 is an awful track and it doesn't even last 2 minutes. I wonder why Autechre have chosen that track! Guest Rook
I don't think they choose the Jap exclusive tracks. Quote Link to comment https://forum.watmm.com/topic/28262-looking-for-flac-copies-of-japan-only-tracks/#findComment-598192 Share on other sites

So you think there's a marketing agent hidden somewhere who decides to add a short track for encouraging azns to buy the album? Guest Rook
Though I am not sure, I suspect that the extra tracks are put on there by Jap distributors since they don't have the same laws as we do. Tis why most of the best bootlegs are from Japan. I wonder why Autechre have chosen that track! I don't care if it's awful, I want it for completionist purposes basically. I have a good feeling about the the extra track on Confield though (if it's anything like the tracks on Envane). BobDobalina
Sry to disappoint, but mcr quarter is nothing like the tracks on envane, rather it sounds a lot like AFX with heavy crowd noise. Some people seem to think it's awesome though. I also seem to recall reading that cds are reedonkulously expensive in japan and that the bonus tracks are a way to throw a bone to the consumer Thanks Haha Confused Sad Facepalm Burger Farnsworth Big Brain Like × Quote Hide BobDobalina's signature Hide all signatures CA$HNE$$ Link to comment https://forum.watmm.com/topic/28262-looking-for-flac-copies-of-japan-only-tracks/#findComment-598539 Share on other sites
Guest Rook
holy butt monkeys MCR Quarter is about better than any Acidy dancy thing that I have ever heard AFX do. Man, I'd kill for a soundboard of this entire show. Sometimes AE and Aphex and Squarepusher too for that matter really piss me off knowing that they have so much great material that I'll never get to listen to. Where as Luke Vibert and Snares have the opposite problem, they release a bit too much and aren't selective enough. Guest CATS
bonus tracks are added by the record label because japs pay twice as much for CDs and they come out later in Japan. Guest Enter a new display name
How many Autechre fans are from Japan? Half of them or what? Is this country part of these musicians' main profits? Guest Rook
I read an interview were AE talked a lot about Japan and how their gigs were always packed there. And that the fans there considered Confield, Draft, and Untilted to be pop releases. blos
MCR Quarter is a live track from the Warp 10 festival in 1999. The entire set is available from the WATMM live archive (or at least it used to be), have a look for 1999-11-05 London. Crowd noise throughout but the recording and set are excellent. On par with the best ones - in my opinion Coachella 1999 and Glasgow Art School 2005 are the greatest of all.
