Bicycle Made for Two

Sung by a speech synthesis prog, processed all to hell. Gets progressively more fucked up as the song develops.

The original, titled "Daisy Bell", was composed by Harry Dacre in 1892. It's now public domain.

Holy crap! The bass that kicks in every now and then is fantastic! My intestines love that tone and my ears like the tune, so listening to this track is like a full body makeover :)

Nice. The bass is a pitch shifted voice with a Finnish accent! I was quite pleased with how well it worked.

Thanks and thanks. I haven't heard much Cylob stuff, but I've liked the little I've heard off his newest album. The only other song I remember of his is that "cut the midrange (drop the bass)" tune, which also has the computer voice singing.

Ahh, yah, definitely check out "Formant Potaton" for even more extreme vocal formant synthesis stuff like this. "I Want to See You Naked" off of that was better than the Tuss for sure.

Anyhow, this really reminded me of that , not just in sound but strength of composition, I really liked it.

haha!

my grandma used to sing this song to me.

excellent glitch stuff here. i really liked the 'going under ground' breakdown section around 2mins. made me smile and gave the whole thing an interesting twist, rather than simply GLITCH.

although there was still plenty of that.

sounds like u had fun making this. i had fun listening.

FUN!

how do i download it! all i get is that quicktime player : (

Right click, save as --if it wants you to save it as a php file, just change the extension to mp3. If you're using a Mac, I don't know the solution.

Hehe, awesome. Yeah, I had a blast making this one. It was actually a lot more challenging than most of the tracks I've done. I spent probably twice the time I'd normally spend. But I can't think of any moment during that time that wasn't FUN time! Sometimes I'll hit a creative brick wall and a track will get a bit tedious, but with this one I was too busy trying new things to get bored.

yeh i know what u mean. sometimes things just dont happen at all. its brilliant when u trick your brain into getting enthused by something and rather than consciously 'making' a track ur simply trying things out and enjoying the process itself.

du find you write quickly? or do u sculpt tracks over the course of weeks?

One week's pretty standard for me, but I'll usually be working on it for many hours each day. I'm most productive after just waking up, with a couple cups of coffee in me. Creative decisions always seem most obvious around that time, which is probably due in part to hearing everything again with fresh ears. It could also have something to do with my mind bouncing the song ideas around subconsciously...? I don't even know if there's any validity to subconscious thought processing, so maybe not.

Anyway, this track took me two weeks, but there were a few days where I only managed a couple hours, and a couple where I didn't have time to do any work. I recently thought about keeping track of the hours I spend working on a track just for curiosity's sake. I think I'll start doing that.
