new track

i found this interview of aldous huxley and it turns out he talks at just around 145bpm

for a laugh i made a track around some clips

I quite like the effect the clip has on the song, though its tough to make out what he's sayin

I hear some great melodies in the background, but i want them to be louder, in the foreground, maybe make the bass less the main focus

yeah i kind of agree about the melody. i was trying to balance it with the vocal samples so that the sample is what you listen to most. like you said though, it's hard to understand what he's saying anyway.

i like the reggae chords toward the end

Yea, it was cool, but I probably would have brought out more melody and less vocal.

i've found out that, over the past year of making no music at all, i forgot how to write melodies. it seems impossible but it's true. those reggae chords are the only melodic element there is.

i read this post last night then had a quick scan on youtube for the interview then listened to that and just went to bed :) so im back to give this a listen.

he lends a nice atmosphere to the tune. the tune itself is ok, quite nice but slightly lacking in emotional depth. the bassline just drifts about without ever really saying much. the chords that come forward at the end could have been a bit louder, this section has alot more going for it.

not bad :)

yeah i'm really rusty. i havn't actually made any real tracks in a long time. i think this is only the second one in 2007 (and the first was a remix). with some luck i'll get it back.
