let me know if it still sucks on headphones mrx

it sounded distorted and a bit muddy on my speakers, but it sounded better on the headphones. I could actually make out some of the smaller details and drum patterns, which sounded pretty dope. While the drum patterns are interesting, this is a very repetitive track. It would have been nice if you would have developed the composition a bit more. Still, this is better than the other remix that I've listened to.

i like the drum sounds, especially the reverb on them and the reverse reverbs.

but i think the kick is so warm, it starts to drown out all the interesting sounds which are more punchy. i dunno if you're like me and make your tracks by pasting layers over the same soundfile and then saving it so you can't go back, but if not, you could see what the track sounds like with a tighter, perhaps 909-like kick?

lots of cool rhythms but little melody. that might help it seem less repetitive. it's got a real industrial feel to it. i put on some big ass black boots, shaved the side of my hair and stomped through some drywall screaming about animal testing whilst listening to this. :ok:

i am hot shit ... that smells like baking bread.

thanks for the feedback duders. thanks mrx for choking down an extra listen. and yeah encey i'm like you so there's no going back for me

yeah i was going for the repetitive techno sort of feel maybe some sort of nod to ABB style also i mixed it entirely at work which is a first for me :D

ya defo defo.

I liked the repetitiveness. But I like repetition and minimalism, so that might just be me. But I would have changed those open hi hats on the off beats a little bit. Sounds a little too generic for the rest of the drums. Maybe. But I do agree with encey a little on the really deep kick.

Really liked it.

cool, so what do you think is messy about it? that would help me out sos i know what to look for next time i mix at work.

hella kicking

i was a little disappointed when the duff duff came in as the beat was good till then. very braindance and punchy. but you saved it with lots of other stuff going on

its weird listening to a beak track as your waiting for the guitar to come in. like you can already hear hows its going to sound, whats its going to play but sometimes it never comes in.

yeah very industrial. got my head going side to side and a chair dance going on

i'm listening on really bassy headphones btw

Guest Adjective

i would've liked a kick that did:

0--0--0-0--0--0

instead of

0-0-0-0-0-0-0-0

i like the higher frequencied percussion business ontop of the kick though.

in parts where you drop / mute things out it reminded me of a NIN remix

(i haven't heard the source material)
