Liftoff Fair Square

Okay, so I didn't feel like going to sleep and I started playing around and warping some sounds. This song is the story of a square preparing and trying to liftoff (he tries really hard), fails a few times, then finally has success and reaches its utopia. It was a 'no sleep' induced vision. Have a listen and try to picture this story to the tunes...

interesting to listen with an impressionism in mind

it was a good track whether or not

thanx, i'm gonna try to have all the songs I make have some sort of strange theme. Like a song I'm working on right now I'm calling Portals to Pathways. The start of the songs has sounds that don't seem like they have a place, just kinda jumping from one to the other without making much sense. Then I'm gonna mold them together, or create a pathway from one sound to the other, and what seemed to not make sense now does. Almost like a reversed Nlogax, but going from destructive to a more orderly chaos to a smooth flowing sound.

Got a few ideas like this, it's just gonna take a little more time to make em.

I like the melodies here, nice buildup, and i like the story behind this one! It could use some background melody (bass or pads or whatever) to carry it along.

Thanks. I tried a few synths and string and pads I thought that might go with the song, but with no success so far. I am still looking for something fitting though. can't really think of it quite yet. Maybe I need another few nights with a tiny amount of sleep.

I think I might keep the addition bland at the start of the song to continue the representation of the square's faliure, but then have it progress like a montage as he prepares for the ultimate try. Then it reaches a cresendo as he takes flight, and thousands of squares on the ground watch in awe and cheer the square on. I'll try to pause the addition before the flight takes place to build suspense lol.

Thanks twentyfourange, you got me thinking about the song again. Need a bit of a jolt everyonce and a while.
