FL free filter

Hi everyone and Merry Christmas!

Just a couple of questions.....

What is your opinion on the free filter in Fruityloops?

Lately I have been wanting to get some proper filter plugins from actual plugin companies rather than using built-in filters.

I still dont know too much about how LP/HP filters actually work...

...all I know is that on my synthesizer (Alesis Ion) there are many different types of filters, which indicates that in the world of filters some types are probaly better that others. Anyway, i'm sick of the fact that the "free filter" included in FL doesn't sound very good.

Any recommendations for better ones?

There is also something else related to filters that I would like to discuss.

You may have noticed that when using a lowpass filter and turning the frequency knob down near the low end you get nasty frequencies that swell up and just about blow your head off. I have always wondered... are there any solutions for eliminating these frequencies???

fruity loops can use VST plugins, and there are enough VST plugin filters to make your ears bleed.

you might want to try EQ to drop unwanted frequencies.

i used to use that filter to lowpass my subs to 200hz now i just use the eq
